Israel Herraiz

Israel Herraiz holds PhD degree in Computer Science from University Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Master's degree in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering from University of Cadiz (Spain). In his past life, he developed some tools for Chemical Engineering (CAFLUR, GnuPinch) and dedicated his life to the Chemical Industry in Algeciras (Spain). In 2004 he managed to scape from the Industry and to start to work as a PhD student in Libresoft, where he currently continues pursuing his Phd in Computer Science. Right now he holds a grant from the Government of Madrid ("beca FPI" in Spanish), to dedicate his full time to his PhD's thesis. During these years working in Libresoft, he has had the opportunity of travelling around the world, visiting 14 different countries and meeting lots of people. Besides Mostoles (Spain), the place where Libresoft is situated, the most beloved people were met in Milton Keynes (UK), while visiting The Open University in the summer of 2005, Victoria (Canada) while visiting the University of Victoria in the summer of 2006, Athens (Greece) while visiting the Athens University of Economics and Businees in 2007, and Oxford (UK) while visting the Oxford University during the summer of 2008.

In his spare time, he tries to collaborate with the rest of the Libresoft's team in the European-funded projects QualOSS (Quality of Open Source Software), FLOSSMetrics (Free/Libre and Open Source Software Metrics), and wherever he might be useful.
